World Pharmacists day

25th September 2020 as celebrated in Lagos Island Maternity Hospital.
Theme: Transforming Global Health.

The day started with a talk at the ANC on VACCINE PREVENTABLE DISEASES.

We then proceeded to the first school – Rebirth International Schools, Campbell Street, Lagos Island (different colours of t-shirts) where

we gave talks on drug abuse and mental wellness.
The school with the grey t-shirt is Maryanne college Catholic Mission Str., Lagos Island

We then had a procession back to the hospital stopping at Parent body, Lagos State Health Service Commission and our sister hospital, General Hospital (Odan) Lagos to celebrate with colleagues there. We donated items of first aid kit to both schools we visited and gave out free multivitamin/iron supplements to our patients and staff at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital.

Pictures were taken at the decorated picture booth and a beautiful cake was cut and members of staff joined us to celebrate our day and we are very grateful for that

The foundation stone of the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital was laid by Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Gloucester on the 13th of May, 1959. The Hospital was formally declared open by Lady Robertson, wife of the then Governor-General of the Federation of Nigeria on the 20th July, 1960.
